You don’t have to believe everything you think.

Over six thousand thoughts go through our mind each day. It can be difficult to figure out which are helpful and which are not. All of these thoughts are a reflection of our experiences, our feelings, and our environment. They are often a result of our brains trying to keep us safe. But our brains don’t always tell the truth.

My role as a therapist is to create an intentional and non-judgmental space where, together, we can identify your strengths and build on them to sort through these overwhelming thoughts. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life, meaning that everyone’s journey in therapy should look different. I pull from multiple therapeutic perspectives with the ultimate goal of combining practical skill building with processing big emotions to help you create more joy in your life.

I have over seven years of experience working with my clients in a clinical person-centered values-based approach. My background includes extensive experience with anxiety/depression, the LGBTQIA+ community, folks diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, and people in recovery from substance use. I have worked with clients experiencing significant life transitions, grief/loss, and career stress, especially people in the arts. I am also formally trained and experienced in utilizing evidence-based trauma therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Seeking Safety.

I’ve learned in my practice that it takes hard work to cultivate an intentionally joyful life. But it’s very possible, and you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s get started.
