Do you need to talk about estrangement in your family?
The internet is calling it a trend, but familial estrangement is a common, age-old strategy for self-preservation. Folks have been moving across the country, blocking phone numbers, and returning to sender for centuries. It is more normal than you think.
I am here to chat with you about your experiences with estrangement. You might be partially or fully no-contact with a family member or your entire family. You might be feeling simultaneously relieved and sick to your stomach. You might be feeling never-ending guilt, shame, and fear that you’ve made the wrong decision.
If you feel called to, please let me help. I have more than ten years of experience in psychotherapy, and I have personal, first-hand experience with familial estrangement, at multiple points throughout my life. I can relate to a multitude of the emotions involved in parental and familial estrangement.
These sessions are not psychotherapy, in that they are not designed to treat a mental health condition. They are reflective conversations, in which your space is held sacred and I provide you a compassionate, non-judgmental sounding board. We can talk through your concerns, your emotions, and your fears. We can speak one time, or we can speak regularly. It is up to you.
50 min session- $65
(A brief note on accessibility- like all my services, please let me know if the financial exchange makes this difficult to reach for you. I am happy to discuss and brainstorm a work-able solution for us both.)
